In the beginning
mindsensors.com was born out of a hobby and passion for electronics, and an urge to meet the needs of peers and friends.
Company vision and all came later.
Dr. Nitin Patil, Founder and CEO
Dr. Nitin Patil founded mindsensors.com in 2002. He graduated in Engineering Physics from IIT Bombay with bachelor of technology degree. He holds PhD in condensed matter physics from TIFR Mumbai. He has served as visiting scientist at University of Leiden, The Netherlands. He also has worked at University of Virginia and University of Pittsburgh as post doc scientist on DARPA project. He has 13 years of experience in research and development in instrumentation and holds patents in that field. He also has more than 50 publications in world-class journals and delivered research talks in universities around the world.

Mr. Deepak Patil, Chief Operating Officer
Deepak brings more than 18 years of experience from IT industry, and 14+ years of management experience to mindsensors.com. He has Masters degree in Industrial Design from Industrial Design Center of IIT Bombay, and has designed user interfaces for various products in multiple industries; including embedded environment like PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controller); Resource rich Client-Server software, Voice interfaces for IVR (Interactive Voice Response) Systems and Multimedia interfaces.
Deepak developed interest in robotics when the original LEGO MINDSTORMS kit was introduced in 1998. Since then Deepak has coached FLL teams and has conducted several robotics workshops with LEGO MINDSTORMS. He also has co-authored book Building Robots with LEGO Mindstorms NXT.
In the past, Deepak has worked for Cisco and other leading technology companies, and he has led technology projects with globally interspersed teams of engineers. He has evaluated projects based on the SWOT analysis and provided resource recommendations. He has overseen project management by various project managers and streamlined the product life cycle process for team interactions, critical milestone activities, effective hand over between teams and accountability for quality control.
