Hi! I ordered the EVShield from http://www.watterott.com/ and installed des EVShield-Lib. The motor-port worked fine and also the simple Lego-switch-sensor did a great job.

Then i installed the EV3-Color-Sensor on the Sensor-Port with the specific test-program from the EVShield-lib. Suddenly the Serial Arduino Ports (COM6) shuts down. Therefore I was not able to get any debug Information from the Arduino-Serial Monitor.

Is that a known bug or a hardware problem?

Any suggestions to solve the issue?

    How is your EVShield powered?

I use a  7.2 Volt Nimh RC Car Rechargeable Battery

Great, that battery should work fine. In the EVShield examples (File -> Examples -> EVShield) you should find EVShield_tests/print_bank_info near the bottom of the list. Could you please run this program to ensure you are getting a full, consistant 7.2 volts as you expect?

Which sensor port are you using? Do you observe the same outcome on the other sensor ports, on bank A and bank B? Knowing whether the problem is on one sensor port or all of them will be useful in resolving this issue.

One other consideration may be the USB connection. Could you try another port, cable, or a powered USB hub?

    Solved!!!

The problem was a bad battery :-(

Using a battery with real 7.2 Volt and the LED-Sensor works fine.

    Thanks for the support.
